Pixel Runner: lane buttons and jumping do different jobs
Lane changes and jumps have separate buttons. The up button on the left changes lane; the Jump button on the right is the jump input. Keep those jobs distinct when reading the next part of the course.
Controls
Tap the up or down buttons on the left to switch lanes. Tap Jump on the right to jump.
Lane buttons and jumping do different jobs
The up and down buttons on the left change lanes. The separate Jump button on the right sends the runner into the air. Changing lane is therefore not an upward jump, and confusing the two can put the character in the wrong place for the next obstacle.
Decide whether the obstruction needs a different lane or clearance above it, then use the appropriate side of the controls. Keep the next section in view so a landing does not immediately require an unplanned lane change.
Navigate the running course using lane changes and jumps
Keep lane switching separate from jumping: the left-side up button changes lane rather than replacing Jump. Read the next section before changing lanes so the move sets up the following jump.
The up lane button is not a substitute for the separate Jump button.
Keep lane changes separate from takeoff
The up and down buttons on the left select a lane, while the Jump button on the right provides vertical clearance. Make that distinction before the obstacle arrives: pressing an upward lane control is not a substitute for jumping over something within the lane.
Try to finish a lane change with a clear view of the next landing area. When both actions are needed in succession, deciding the order early is more reliable than tapping both sides without watching the result.
